Phase 1

Holds & Circulation

All Springfield Library-owned items that normally circulate for 3 weeks will be due back October 30, 2026. This includes any Springfield Library items currently checked out.

We would like you to hold onto these items while we are preparing for our move and are settled in our new space. No fines will be charged.

Our preparations to move to our temporary location are already in the works. Any Springfield Library items still out can be returned to the Springfield Library until October 3rd.

After October 3rd, items can be returned to any Delaware County Library, where they will be held until we re-open at 220 Baltimore Pike.

Phase 2

Closing & Moving

Springfield Township Library closes Monday, October 5, 2026 when we begin moving into our temporary space.

We are taking a smaller collection of our materials with us. The remainder will be placed in storage until the renovations are completed.

Phase 3

Reopening & Programming

During the week of October 12th we will continue with moving and setting up the space with the expectation of reopening by Monday, October 19th.

Children’s programming will end after September 25. We plan to start Fall programs on November 4th at Old Central School (behind Wawa on Saxer Ave). We also plan to have some of the smaller adult programs at Old Central School as well.

Thank you all for your continued support of our library and your patience during this transitional time.
